This role oversees process design and continuous improvement while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, partnering cross-functionally to support documentation, innovation, and execution of core business processes. Success is assessed by measurable process improvements and effective deployment of capital projects. This role also serves as a key engineering contact for vendors, leadership, and internal stakeholders. A Sample of What You’ll Do in This Role: • Lead engineering design, planning, and execution for capital and process improvement projects across facilities. • Manage full project lifecycle including scope, cost estimates, timelines, resources, risk, and delivery against budget and schedule. • Collaborate with Location and Plant Managers to develop strategic plans, project scopes, and resource requirements. • Oversee process engineering design, review manufacturing processes, and identify improvements to efficiency, quality, and cost. • Develop and evaluate equipment, materials, systems, and engineering practices for project effectiveness. • Lead preparation of RFPs, bid evaluations, contractor selection, negotiations, and pre-construction activities. • Coordinate AutoCAD design work, schematics, and engineering documentation for projects. • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including OSHA and MSHA, and partner with EHS on safety. • Monitor and report project progress, costs, risks, and performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders. • Serve as primary engineering point of contact for vendors, consultants, and internal teams. • Drive commissioning, troubleshooting, and field engineering support for projects and new equipment installations. • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to meet requirements, timelines, and communication expectations. • Support documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of core business systems and processes. • Lead initiatives to standardize processes, improve cost efficiency, and enable new capabilities. • Manage competing priorities and resources across multiple projects and programs. • Provide consultation on equipment procurement and engineering solutions. • Assist with departmental budgeting and implement operational policies, procedures, and goals. What You Bring to the Role: • 10+ years of experience as a chemical plant, project, or process engineer with 5+ years in project management and 3+ years in a PSM facility • Experience successfully delivering capital projects with strong focus on safety, cost control, and timelines • Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills across multiple concurrent initiatives • Expertise in process engineering, implementation, and continuous improvement • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage competing priorities • Experience with control system design and implementation • Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent) • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across internal teams, vendors, and leadership • Experience with MS Visio and AutoCAD (read/write) preferred • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (trade certifications preferred) What Makes You a Great Fit: • You are a high-integrity professional with strong work ethic and commitment to safety • You are a hands-on “working leader” who can both lead teams and directly execute technical work • You have a strong learning agility and consistently exceed expectations • You’re resourceful and can balance efficiency with knowing when to invest additional resources • You are customer-focused and enable commercial teams to better serve customers • You’re a critical thinker who analyzes complex problems and drives practical, results-oriented solutions • You have strong organizational skills with a process-driven mindset • You can build strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams • You enjoy creating a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment Compensation and Benefits: • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $144,800 - $202,830. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.     • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
