Join us and help meet one of the most important energy challenges of our time while building a rewarding career.  Overview  Cypress Creek Energy is seeking a highly motivated intern to help monitor the daily operation of a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale PV plants. The SCADA Intern will join our operator team to perform continuous real-time monitoring and control of Solar Facility performance, energy yield, and output.  Over the summer the intern will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and operate utility-scale solar generation facilities.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li>Assist the SCADA team with daily system monitoring and operational support </li> <li>Help maintain and organize SCADA documentation, network diagrams, and system configurations </li> <li>Support data collection, analysis, and reporting from SCADA systems </li> <li>Assist with testing, validation, and troubleshooting of SCADA alarms, points, and dashboards </li> <li>Participate in system upgrades, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives </li> <li>Collaborate with engineers, operators, and IT/OT teams on assigned projects </li> <li>Follow cybersecurity and safety best practices related to industrial control systems </li> </ul>  Preferred Education and/or Work Experience <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field </li> <li>Basic understanding of SCADA, PLCs, automation systems, or industrial networks is a plus </li> <li>Familiarity with data analysis tools, databases, or scripting (Python, SQL, etc.) is a plus </li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li> <li>Networking and firewall experience  </li> <li>Ability to learn quickly and work well in a team environment </li> <li>Good communication and documentation skills </li> </ul> Preferred <ul> <li>Coursework or experience in automation, control systems, or networking </li> <li>Interest in energy systems, microgrids, utilities, or industrial operations </li> </ul> What You’ll Gain  <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with real SCADA and OT systems </li> <li>Exposure to industrial automation, energy systems, or critical infrastructure </li> <li>Mentorship from experienced engineers and operators </li> <li>Practical experience that complements academic learning </li> </ul> Locations: The location for this role is in Durham, NC. We are on a hybrid schedule 3/week.  Duration:  The intern program will ideally run for 3 months. Students who would need to return to school prior to Sep 1 are still encouraged to apply.    Compensation: The hourly rate for our undergraduate internships is $25/hr.
