Estimator Coordinator

description about press glass press glass is a leading manufacturer of architectural glass products used in major commercial construction projects and landmark buildings. our work plays an important role in creating modern, high-quality buildings across the country. general description or summary under general supervision, the estimator coordinator evaluates specifications in order to estimate yields for a broad range of client projects. this individual should be good in mathematics and proficient in using computer applications along with effective communication capabilities and strong organizational skills. essential job functions reviews project documents/spec sheets and architectural and technical drawings. estimates material required to complete the project. confers with sales, scheduling and engineering teams, customers, and vendors to resolve issues, determine lead time and/or project requirements. calculates material costs based on analysis of project specifications raw material yield. prepares a complete and accurate cost estimate for the project using the pressquotes tool and ms excel. records calculations into database (pressquotes tool). secures material price for projects with vendors and purchasing team. consults with quality and technical support engineers to determine production capabilities for the project. prepares customer proposal (estimate). negotiates and makes decisions about markups levels and consults with estimating manager as necessary. completes reports as assigned. performs additional assignments per the manager’s direction. requirements qualifications, educational skills and experience high school diploma required; additional education and/or experience is a plus. proficiency in ms office (ms word, excel, powerpoint and outlook) with the ability to quickly learn new systems. excellent mathematical skills. exceptional written and verbal communication skills. communicate verbally and in writing with a good command of the english language attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills. strong organizational skills with the ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. ability to work under time pressure. ready for business trips. physical demands requires regular sitting, reaching walking, talking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling and keyboarding. may occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds. includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus. reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. work environment work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of the job. noise levels are usually moderate. note: the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and work level being performed by individuals assigned to this position; it is not an all-inclusive list of duties. press glass, inc. reserves the right to cross-train between departments to meet the ongoing needs of the company. all personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities/departments from time-to-time as needed. press glass inc. offers a competitive benefits package press glass is not accepting unsolicited resumes or candidate submissions from staffing agencies or third-party recruiters for this position.
