Jr. Project/Office Engineer (Transportation Infrastructure Programs)

<h1 style="line-height: 1.4;"><span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 32, 61); font-size: 24pt;"><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></span></h1> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Techno is seeking a <span style="color: rgb(208, 152, 71);"><strong>Office Engineer/Project Engineer (Civil)</strong></span> to support the Gateway Development Commission (GDC) and its Delivery Partner team on the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). This role combines civil engineering, construction coordination, project documentation, and project controls to support project delivery, quality, and regulatory compliance.</span></p> <ul> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Review design drawings, specifications, and contractor submittals; assist with resolving technical issues, evaluating constructability, and coordinating design changes.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and field personnel to align design, construction activities, and project milestones.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support civil engineering activities related to roadway design, grading, utilities, stormwater management, drainage systems, erosion control, and water quality treatment.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist with project controls activities involving schedule, cost, risk, change management, and document control, including evaluating potential schedule impacts.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare project status reports and maintain project logs, risk registers, issues logs, and lessons-learned documentation.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support quality assurance activities, construction monitoring, inspections, testing, and compliance with project specifications and contract requirements.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist with compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including NJDEP, NEPA, USACE, and relevant permitting requirements.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support environmental compliance and stormwater infrastructure activities, including detention basins, bioswales, and infiltration systems.</span></li> <li style="line-height: 1.4; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Utilize BIM, PMIS, and other project management tools to support coordination, reporting, and information management.</span></li> </ul> <h1 style="line-height: 1.4;"><span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 32, 61); font-size: 24pt;"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span></h1> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">3–7 years of experience in civil engineering, office engineering, or construction management, preferably on infrastructure or transportation projects.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of roadway engineering, including geometric design, grading, utilities, drainage, and traffic control and staging plans.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with stormwater management, including drainage design, stormwater modeling and analysis, erosion control, and water quality treatment.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with construction documentation, project controls, scheduling, risk management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM, and project management information systems (PMIS).</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with public-sector infrastructure or transportation projects in the NJ/NY metropolitan area.</span></li> </ul> <h1 style="line-height: 1.4;"><span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 32, 61); font-size: 24pt;"><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></span></h1> <p style="line-height: 1;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The anticipated compensation range for this position is between <strong>$40-$50/hr</strong>.
